The weather is looking good so far, and the ice and snow has gone.  Now is the time for some fun Festivals to frolic around in and enjoy yourself.  If you live in the city or just about anywhere, a long vacation or weekend vacay is ideal in Upstate NY.  Bring your kids or grandkids for the fun. 

Franklinville WNY Maple Festival.

Take a mini vacation to taste the mouth watering freshly made maple syrup of Upstate NY and learn the process of making it! Get involved with two days of maple bliss in Franklinville, NY with all day long festivities including all you can eat pancakes, demonstrations, and a craft show.  There will be a petting zoo for your kids or grandkids, kids rides, a craft show, the Maple Festival Parade, a library book sale, SAPS 5K race, plowing demos, live entertainment, helicopter rides and the Miner’s Cabin will be open! Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival.

Let’s observe all of what Spring has to offer in Buffalo, NY. Start with the festival of Cherry Blossoms, which are exploding with color all across New York State.  It’s in Buffalo, NY, in the Japanese Garden in Delaware Park.  Why take that long drive all the way to Washington, DC when you can see a Springtime Blizzard of Cherry Blossoms in Buffalo? The blossoms bloom just after the ones in Washington, DC.   So make it a journey to see them all.  Buffalo; $40; April 29 – May 6

Albany Tulip Festival.

The Tulip Festival is Albany’s signature spring event.  Featuring annual traditions rooted in the city’s rich Dutch heritage, nearly one hundred artisans selling their handmade crafts, a fine arts show, delicious food, the KidZone family fun destination, two stages of world-class live entertainment and more than 140,000 tulips in 150 different varieties, the Tulip Festival is a sparkling showcase of local culture and business. It all takes place in historic Washington Park, the 81-acre “crown jewel” of the City.  Albany; free; May 13 – 14.

Beers & Cheers Microbrewery Festival.

This is a wonderful festival to attend in the Southern Tier of NYS.  The Beers and Cheers Microbrewery Festival showcases all the local and spectacular breweries of the Southern Tier.  Binghamton; prices vary; May 28.



Taste of Country Music Festival.

Hunter Mountain is the place to be for the Taste of Country Music Festival.  The lineup at this three-day country music festival will rock your world.  See music artists Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt, Bruno Mars, Billy Joel, Ariana Grande, Bon Jovi, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Tom Petty, U2, Garth Brooks, Coldplay and so many other great stars.  Make it one fun summer.  Mark your calendar because this is gonna be great!

Plan on spending all three days for this fabulous event.  Enjoy the lovely weather by bringing your RV or lodging at the nearby Kaaterskill Mountain Club.  Get your Tickets that starts at $185; June 9 – 11.
