Known as the Show-Me State, there is no official state nickname, but Missouri is also called:
- The “Cave State” ~ with over 6,000 recorded caves
- “The Lead State” ~ the state produces more leads than any other state
- “The Ozark State” ~ for the Ozark Mountains in the southern part of the state
- “Mother of the West” ~ “The Iron Mountain State” and “Pennsylvania of the West”
